Comfort Zone vs Possibility Zone

You've done it before - you've stood right at the edge looking forward into the 'Possibility Zone' aka the unknown.  Maybe you were just about to give a speech or ask someone on a date or skydive or maybe it was your first day on a new job.

Everyone one of us knows how it feels to step out our ‘comfort zone’ and everyone has a different reaction.  It could be a less than pleasant sensation like feeling queasy and weak in the knees or it could be more of a sense of excitement.  Generally people whose experience leans more toward the discomfort side will do just about anything to avoid the edge of their comfort zone.

But that’s a huge mistake!

If may feel safe inside your comfort zone but it is stunting your growth and development and growth is a natural part of all life.

EVERYTHING you want but don’t currently have is outside your comfort zone and in the ‘Possibility Zone’ – everything!  The only way to experience what you want to do, be, have, or create is to venture out into the Possibility Zone on a regular basis.

Sometimes that journey is uncomfortable or even scary; sometimes it’s fun and exciting but it’s the only way to get to the future you desire and it gets easier the more you do it!  As you repeat the process of stepping out of the comfort zone and into the Possibility Zone again and again your comfort zone will slowly expand to include the things that are now only dreams.

So next time you experience that ‘oh shit’ feeling of stepping out of your comfort zone and into the Possibility Zone, yell, woo hoo (in your head if it’s not appropriate in a meeting, for example) and pat yourself on the back for stepping toward the life you are growing into!  And just have some fun with it!
